A former farmworker of the California Central Valley, Mr. Perez is a Safety professional with a proven successful track record in the field of worker protection for over eighteen years. As a practitioner, Jose has served the workforce within Agriculture, Construction, Manufacturing, Mining, as well as Oil & Gas. As a member of the Wonderful Company’s Corporate Environmental Health and Safety department, Jose serves the Wonderful business units located in the US, Mexico and the FIJI Island, by ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing safety programs and policies, as well development of environmental, health and safety training material. Ultimately supporting the department’s mission to protect our organizations most valuable assets: Our People and the Environment in which we operate.
With a sincere desire to “Give Back” to the profession, Jose serves as a member of executive boards and strategic committees for the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), the Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America (ASHCA), and the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM). In the community, Jose serves as a volunteer outreach trainer for the California Poison Control, Community Leader and Disaster Response member for the American Red Cross, and as a safety educator for students with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation. Jose is a proud father to three wonderful daughters who fuel his drive and passion.
