Jessica Salerno, MSN, RN, FNP-C

Director of Clinical and Occupational Health Education

Jessica is a graduate of and advocate for the AgriSafe’s Nurse Scholar program and she brings a diverse educational and clinical background to her new role. She is passionate about providing sustainable, holistic and comprehensive care to rural populations and believes that the nurse scholars program is an important component of providing informed healthcare service to these vitally important agricultural communities.

Jessica completed her Family Nurse Practitioner MS(N) training at Western Carolina University and has a BS in Nursing from the University of North Carolina. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has worked with patients of all ages and backgrounds in a number of rural healthcare settings throughout North Carolina and Upstate
New York. As an NP, she has experience in primary care, occupational and agricultural medicine. In addition to her work as an NP, she has over a decade of nursing experience, having worked in procedural nursing, refugee health, and communicable disease. Prior to her work and education in nursing, she studied horticulture and worked in agricultural research and stream, wetland and natural habitat restoration.
