Dr. Amanda Stone is from Pennsylvania and went on to the University of Findlay in Ohio to earn her B.S. in Animal Sciences and Biology and then completed her M.S. and PhD in Animal Sciences from the University of Kentucky. She has co-authored 18 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 1 book chapter, and 54 peer-reviewed abstracts and conference papers. She focuses her research and extension work into two main areas: farm stress and dairy cattle heat stress. She is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and has trained several hundred Mental Health First Aiders. She is a member of the AgriStress Response Network and an Extension Dairy Specialist at Mississippi State University.
