AgriSafe Network is currently accepting nominations for its Board of Directors. The deadline to nominate yourself or others is Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Who is the ideal Board candidate?
There is no “ideal” Board candidate. Instead, AgriSafe wants its Board to include individuals with diverse work, life, social, and educational backgrounds so that it can make well-rounded decisions that reflect its entire membership.
What do Board volunteers do?
Board members are responsible for strategic thinking, planning, and evaluation on behalf of AgriSafe. While AgriSafe staff typically execute programs, the Board is responsible for envisioning the program, setting its direction, and evaluating programming for progress and success.

What do Board volunteers get in return for their service?
Previous AgriSafe Board members have attested to the tremendous value of Board service. In addition to impressive line items for their resumes, they have reported significant professional and personal benefits including:

What type of reimbursement for travel is available?
Board members will receive reimbursement of travel expenses on a case by case basis.
How much time does Board service require?
Although Board members must be willing to invest time in preparing for and thoughtfully participating in Board meetings, the time commitment is not onerous. The AgriSafe Board meets every other month through virtual meetings and once a year in person. In addition, each member of the Board serves on one or more of the committees and should be available to participate in quarterly committee calls.
What is the nominating process?
Candidates will be elected by a vote of the board of directors. Nominations can be submitted by filling out the application here. The deadline to submit nominations is October 15, 2026.
