OVERVIEW
The AgriSafe Rural and Teaching Health Center Residency Training Program will include in-depth webinars provided by experts in the field of agricultural safety and health that are offered on-demand, virtually. These trainings will help residents, faculty, and physicians increase their competencies.
CME hours will be provided.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing the trainings, residents and faculty will be able to:
- Recognize the specific health and safety hazards that agricultural workers and patients may face, including exposure to chemicals, machinery, zoonotic diseases, heat stress, and musculoskeletal injuries
- Improve communication when interacting with patients who work in agriculture
- Recognize and address mental health challenges common in agricultural communities
- Know strategies to educate patients and their families about health, safety, and preventive practices in agriculture
