Chiemezie Anthony Udemba, MS

Chiemezie Anthony Udemba has made a significant impact in the realms of occupational ergonomics and safety. Anthony’s pursuit of education took him across three continents, leading to an impressive array of academic achievements. He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria, Oil and Gas Chemistry from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, Industrial and Systems Engineering from Colorado State University-Pueblo, and Engineering Management from Wichita State University in Kansas. 

 Anthony’s achievement in becoming the first student selected by the International Society for Occupational Ergonomics & Safety (ISOES) to join their Executive Council from 2021 to 2023 is indeed a significant milestone. His dedication to occupational ergonomics and safety has been recognized through numerous prestigious honors and awards from a wide range of esteemed organizations. These include National Safety Council, Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), Google, United Parcel Service (UPS), Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), U.S. Department of Energy Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) and Institute of Industrial, Systems, and Manufacturing Engineers (IISE). 

 Anthony’s contributions to occupational ergonomics and safety, underscored by these numerous recognitions, highlight his commitment and impact on enhancing safety standards and practices across various industries. In academia, Anthony has made substantial contributions as a peer reviewer for many high-quality journals and conference papers, with his research focusing on ergonomics and safety within the supply chain. His work addresses critical issues that affect worker safety and operational efficiency. He takes pride in his educational initiatives aimed at enhancing safety awareness and training, ultimately saving lives and preventing injuries. 

 Anthony is driven by a mission to build a legacy centered on improving lives. His efforts have promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organizations he has been involved with, emphasizing the essential role these factors will play in the future. Through his work, he aims to implement quality safety measures that benefit men and women globally, leaving a lasting impact on occupational safety and ergonomics.
