Cheryl Witt, PhD, RN uses her 30 plus years of nursing experience, love for the farm, concern of health disparities in rural and Appalachian areas to pursue her research focus of improving the health of farmers and farm families. Dr. Witt, along with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, initiated a collaborative group of key stakeholders from across the state to address the health (physical and mental) of farmers and farm families. She is active in the Kentucky Women in Agriculture, Rural Nurse Organization, and International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health. She continues to farm with her family in Central Kentucky.
