Category: Webinars

Summary

This webinar will provide an overview of things farms need to do to become compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations. Since the fall of 2013, NYCAMH has been heavily involved with assisting New York farms to comply with OSHA requirements, specifically due to the OSHA Local Emphasis Program (LEP) for NY dairy farms. This presentation will give an overview of how OSHA regulations apply to agriculture, what needs to be done to manage an OSHA inspection on a farm, and some of the common items for which farms receive OSHA citations.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Identify what makes a farming operation exempt from all OSHA activities.
2. Understand what the General Duty Clause is.
3. Understand When and Why OSHA can use the General Duty Clause.
4. List four events that could generate an OSHA Inspection.
