This webinar will give an overview of simple strategies that can be utilized to create a safe work environment on a farm. Creating a positive culture of safety on a farm is necessary in order to help motivate people to work safely and prevent injuries. Important components of a culture of safety include; personal belief in safety by management, following the hierarchy of controls and eliminating or guarding hazards, modeling safe behaviors, and providing regularly recurring safety training. This presentation will give an overview of resources available that farms can utilize to create a positive safety culture.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand what a positive culture of safety looks like on a farm.
  2. List the Hierarchy of Safety levels in order of importance.
  3. List five strategies that can be used to create a safe work environment on a farm.
  4. Identify three resources of help to create a positive culture of safety.
