AgriSafe Young Advisors Council (AYAC)

Volunteer Description

The AgriSafe Network is seeking young volunteers from across the nation to join our Young Advisors Council. AgriSafe is a national 501©3 organization representing health and safety professionals who strive to reduce health disparities found among the agricultural community.

Rural leaders ages 16-23 who are interested in representing perspectives of youth in agriculture are welcome to volunteer as a member of the AgriSafe Young Advisors Council (AYAC). The AYAC is a unique opportunity for youth in agriculture to impact the health and safety of their peers.  The council will be comprised of 6-10 rural leaders from around the country.

Once on the AYAC, members provide input on the training materials and educational resources developed for youth by AgriSafe.  AYAC is charged with assisting AgriSafe to design and launch educational initiatives that can reduce farm related illness, injury and fatalities. AYAC members have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, public health experience and may even represent AgriSafe at meetings or forums.
