Customized Workshops:

Training Workshops are designed to give health providers, safety personnel and educators concrete and useful information so they may serve the occupational health needs of the agricultural community. Trainings can be customized to meet the needs of various audiences and can be arranged on site. Most workshops can be offered within a three-four hour time frame.

Training Offerings

Conducting Employment Physicals in the Agriculture Industry
Participants will learn how to take a comprehensive occupational health history that incorporates exposures to farm related exposures.  Various AgriSafe clinical instruments will be used to demonstrate proper protocols.

Developing a Comprehensive Occupational Health Program for Farm Families
Public health, rural health and safety practitioners are well positioned to integrate occupational health services for farm families.  This workshop will focus on the training requirements and health care deliver systems needed to deliver effective agricultural occupational health care.  Outreach strategies to attract farmers to services and sustainability methods will also be explored.

Respirator Selection for Farmers, Ranchers and Agricultural Workers
Participants will practice using the AgriSafe Respiratory Selection Guide when recommending respiratory protection by participating in case studies. Practical applications will focus on agricultural exposures and the unique challenges of working with the agricultural population. To facilitate discussion and assist in understanding the complexity involved in selection of a proper respirator, numerous types and styles of respirators will be available for the clinicians to handle.

Personal Protective Equipment for Farmers, Ranchers and Agricultural Workers
This design of this workshop is similar in scope to the respirator selection but focuses on other types of PPE such as Tvex suites, goggles and gloves that should be incorporated into the agricultural operation.
