Farmer Health Information Website

Farmers need access to agricultural specific health information that is both accurate and easily obtained. One of the most useful resources to ensure they receive that information is through the internet.

With your help, the AgriSafe Network will test, design and maintain a health information website devoted solely to agricultural health issues for farm families.  The website will be integrated into the current AgriSafe Network website (www.agrisafe.org) as an expanded feature.  Currently, the website offers links to health services and much more.

General health websites are widely available; however, there are few websites that offer agricultural health information in a search engine format. The existing websites are academic in nature and are not easy to navigate for the farm family. Together, Corporate Sponsorship and the AgriSafe Network will fill the internet's current lack of non-academic health information specific to the occupation of farming.

Sponsorships’ Market Advantage

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Report, a growing number of U.S. farms utilize internet access. More affluent farms (72%) were more likely to use the internet that those with smaller incomes (47%).

Agribusinesses that use website marketing know that it boosts sales and maintains a solid customer base.

Website Sponsorship gives corporations:

  •  An opportunity to market their product or service through advertising space that
directly reaches the targeted audience – the farmers and the farming community

  •  A link to the corporation’s website

  •  The investment into the ongoing work of AgriSafe as it strives to improve the
      health and well
being of farm families

  •  An opportunity to build brand awareness through repetitive viewing of site visitors

Next Step - Conducting the Feasibility Assessment

The first phase of this initiative involves the completion of a feasibility assessment to determine the potential success of this concept.  Start-up funds from sponsors will be used to complete the feasibility assessment before funds are allocated to the actual design of the website.
