Agricultural Occupational Health Training Program

This specialized training program provides the information and skills to enable health care professionals to function in the anticipation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and injuries in the farm and ranch community. The training is also designed to establish Provider level membership to the AgriSafe Network. The 2008 training is being offered at two universities: the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL.

The training is specifically for nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, and any additional interested health care providers. Over 300 physicians, physician assistants, nurses, veterinarians, and other professionals have completed this program and gone back to their communities to provide AgriSafe services for farm and ranch families and agricultural workers.

2008 Competitive Training Stipends are now being accepted! Stipend applications are due April 18th via e-mail, fax or postal mail. Please view the application for stipend details. Contact Kristi Fisher to discuss AgriSafe services, the Agricultural health training, or your stipend questions via phone 712-363-4067 or e-mail kfisher@agrisafe.org.
