On-Farm Safety Services
Trained reviewers are available to come out to farms and help identify any hazards. The reviewer will discuss ways to help improve the safety of the work environment and offer suggestions on how to eliminate the hazards. A farm safety checklist, developed by a team of six agricultural health specialists who reviewed over 40 different lists prepared by other organizations in North America and around the world, will be used to assist in the recommendations. The checklist helps the reviewer score hazardous areas on the farm, including:
- machinery
- livestock facilities
- chemical storage areas
- use of personal protective equipment
- outdoor farm environment
- storage facilities
