Opening: Data Analyst Intern


The AgriSafe Network has an opening for a data analyst Intern. The Intern is responsible for supporting the work of AgriSafe's evaluation team.  The intern will provide data analyst support to measure program impact.  The intern will also write summary reports and participate in team meetings.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the internship is an unpaid, 2-4 month opportunity with the possibility of extension. It is designed for students to obtain relevant work experience in order to be competitive for future positions in public health or other non-profit/for profit arenas, with an emphasis on agricultural occupational health. Students will also gain skills in the area of data analysis, evaluation, health communications, and behavior change theory.

The evaluation team is led by Natalie Roy, AgriSafe Executive Director and assisted by Knesha Rose..  All senior evaluation team members have extensive experience and education in the field of public health and evaluation.  The Intern will collaborate with team members via GoToMeeting video conference at a time that is amendable for the Intern.


The intern will be responsible for supporting staff in assessment evaluation of AgriSafe's training initiatives.  Work duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist pre and post surveys under development. • Conduct web-based research on successful models of behavior change. • Data entry. • Data analysis. • Conduct user testing of web based resources. • Assist with survey distribution and coordination. • Assist with regular communication with partners to ensure timely collection of data • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS • Current enrollment as graduate level student in an accredited college or university; majoring in public health, health education, communications, or related field. • Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale.

WORK DURATION & CONDITIONS • Negotiable and flexible.  Approximately 4-5 hours a week for a minimum of two months.  The internship is unpaid, however a travel stipend of $400 is available to interns who present their work at professional meetings.  Reasonable travel expenses incurred as a result of the internship will be reimbursed. 

ACADEMIC CREDIT • AgriSafe will work with intern and student’s advisor to facilitate academic credit. Student may also use the internship and data collected for their own research or Capstone experience.
